Grant Muir- Lead Physiotherapist

Personal Profile

Grant is the director and lead physiotherapist at GM Physiotherapy. 

 

Originally graduating in Glasgow, Scotland in 2015. Grant began his career under the National Health Service (NHS). He enjoyed roles in orthopaedics, medical, neurological and community settings. Having a passion for sport and a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Grant began working in high level sports including Football (soccer if you're from Oz!), hockey and eventually AFL, after moving to Australia in 2018. 

Grant has had the pleasure of working with the Scottish Hockey Team; Rangers Football Club; Geelong Football Club and within elite level boxing- rehabilitating a world champion.

The combination of hospital based, community and sports physiotherapy has provided Grant with a varied and unique skillset which he uses to improve the lives of patients everyday. 

 

In 2021, Grant made the decision to open GM Physiotherapy in an effort to bring high quality physiotherapy to patients in their communities at affordable prices.

 

On top of his professional experience, Grant himself was also an international athlete. Competing in athletics and cross country and representing Scotland on multiple occasions. 

Grant has collected over ten individual national titles over cross country and track throughout his junior and senior career. Even earning a cheeky Victorian State 800m Championship at the end of his career! He is an advocate of hard work!

Education

2011-2015

Glasgow Caledonian University

Degree in Batchelor of Science with Honours in Physiotherapy. Completing over 1000 hours of clinical training and a thesis at the end of the course. 

2017

British Medical Acupuncture Society

A diploma in the western approach of dry needling and traditional acupuncture.
